Priming the Argus Wolves

Mrs. Troll: I've chosen to primer my argus wolves in a tan brown, instead of the traditional black or white. I then added a layer of brown ink/wash to seal in the crevices. Then a layer of ghoul grey mixed with graduating tints of white was added for a base flesh. The whole effect came out an unintended greenish for some reason. I'll have to experiment further.

  1. Ghoul flesh does have a subtle greenish tint thats not usually obvious from how it looks in the pot. If you're familiar with the wet blending technique PP is a proponent of, or even drybrushing, you could highlight a less green color, maybe a lighter grey or an off white. That would tone down the green tint and use it as a shading element.

You could also try washing it, a brownish or grey wash might shift the color enough by shading that the green fades out.

The last trick I can think of, would be doing a very green base with alot of greenery/shrubs. The natural plant greens could make the green in the ghoulish grey trick the eye into not seeing it(to test the theory stick a swatch of green paper or something next to the mini and see if it works).

Hope some of that helps :)

  2. Thank you for the tips! I think I might try highlighting or blending with a less green color.
